ABOUT US

Created by 13 Interfaith Organizations, in San Francisco in 1996, Welcome teaches individuals and faith communities to respond to local poverty by listening to the needs of the community, artistically and creatively responding, and whenever possible enabling those living in poverty to participate as equals. Welcome's projects utilize interfaith volunteers, are designed to somatically heal post traumatic stress disorder and to be replicated.

Most of our direct service programming is in San Francisco and supports LGBTQ homeless individuals.

The Welcome board of directors reevaluate our programming each year, in order to respond to current poverty issues. While, most of our projects are based out of San Francisco, we also travel to other cities across the country to share what we've learned and to help others replicate our projects.  In order to increase our impact, we partner with often partner with other organizations.
